That sucks. My board is a Asus pvi-486sp3 and it seems to support most any PCI cards i've thrown at it. I used to use a Trident card of some sort, can't remember what but the ATi seemed to be a bit better.

FYI i am currently using a ATi Rage XL PCI 8MB card in my Am486 DX4-100. System is running WFW 3.11 and DOS 6.22 It isn't the BEST card in the world, but so far it's been pretty compatible and it does work with the ATi MACH64 drivers if I remember correctly under 3.11 It was pretty cheap too, just a …

Yeah, The 6326 wasn't a completely awful card. I just have bad memories of trying to get Unreal to play correctly with it on my k6-2. It wasn't the cards fault, i was just trying to get it to punch above it's weight.

I could be wrong, but I think if the board will support 2.8v, a K6/2 with a 6x multi would be the best option.....I don't have much experience with the Cyrix stuff though. Even less with IDT chips. I used to have a Aopen AP53 than I ran a K6/2 at 400mhz with a 66FSB and 6X multi. It did fairly well …

First IT job that I ever had, my boss always gave me a hard time for using "generic" graphics card drivers. He ALWAYS insisted on using the drivers that came bundled with the card, Sapphire or Asus or what have you. This would have been around 2001-2002, we built a lot of systems ground up back then …

I'm not a Vista advocate by any means. But I will say that I think it did get a bit of a bad rap, at launch driver support was pretty abysmal but it did get better relatively quickly. More so though I think the hardware requirements were waaaaay under stated by Microsoft. There were a ton of cheapie …
