Well, the thing is, that on today's market, you will most probably spend way more money on period correct Win 98 system, than on overpowered one.

I thought this about only Voodoo AGP card, which I can use in my "retro" rig, Voodoo 4 4500. But yeah, it somehow ended up in my collection. I'm quite proud about it, even tho it's one of my slowest card (but most rare on the other side).

I would say, that Socket 939 is as big overkill for DOS gaming as LGA 775... And for Socket 939, I don't know about Win 98 compatibility, so I won't help you with this. Yeah, I wasn't 100% sure, now I will remember, that it applies for whole drive. But on the other way, if you would be able to install Win 98 on that drive, you should be able to utilize whole disk with LBA48 patch installed with unofficial SP3, doesn't it?

Well, you don't need to update game to version, which removes Win 98 compatibility. The same applies for StarCraft, you don't need to play that new free Battle.net version, just install goog old one from CD. I don't see any problem with that.

I used cheap Arctic Cooling MX-2. And I used just small drop, since RV740 die is really small, and cooler spread out TIM evenly, once reapplied on card.
