iirc blue was the version that came as part of the Hello! Music! Audio bundles. While purple was the stand alone boxed retail release. SOL2 offered basically nothing over the original SOL to begin with.

I have one, and they look really damn cool in person. Videos don't do them justice. Shame they are quite rare though, or I'd buy a full rack of 16, 1 for each channel. 😀

XGWorksST probably supports PLG, but it is basically SOL-Light (ST = SOL Technology), so may as well just use SOL.

Cold/cracked solder most likely. A quick reflow will probably fix it. Unrelated but the volume wheel on CM units are junk, can often short out a channel as they age.

I've used DreamBlasterX2 in mine for years, but it uses very little power. The manual for the Korg lists the power limits. If you have another way of using the daughterboard you can just use a meter to measure power draw.

Thanks for the info. I've been using DreamBlaster X2 in my NS5R for years and never experienced anything like this before. I've been testing this setup on several different machines and games, certain tracks always create this issue. Oh well, I've been meaning to pickup a chill box anyways. 😀
