I just ran past this thread again, and was curious if the development had progressed any further. Probably the same as others here, I keep running in to machines that would be great for DOS use, except for the presence of AC97 sound “hardware”. - Alex

I am obsessed with SBCs, and tend to pick them up, whenever I find them cheaply. I have PCISA, ISA, PCIe, PC-104, and everything else in between, starting with a number of Ampro Littleboards, both z80 and 8086/8088. - Alex

The difference isn't obvious, but it is there. I have a Pentium Pro board, in an IBM PC 365, that takes only 3.3v EDO 168 pin DIMMs. It's the same RAM that Apple Power Mac 4400s take, so you can look for that. - Alex
