The other thing you may have to do on your version of vm is attach the usb disk to the vm

which drive did you select in step 13? make sure that is definitely your usb drive there. sounds like something is mounting as a hard drive but not the right thing

why don't you post some good high res pictures of the board here, maybye we can spot a broken trace or a leaking capacitor thats a easy fix?

not sure which vmware you are using because there is alot of different versions. I could never get mapping to work ask well but I found that if you make a new machine from a iso image eg dos6.iso, then under that machine add a ide hard disk and specify a directory on your Windows 10 for the ide hard …

there is also the scenario that this particular app is not compatible under dosbox just like some games run really bad or crash. I would download the free version of vmplayer, download dos 6.22 iso. Mount it, mount a directory with your application as a hard drive under vmplayer and try that way.

I tried everything and the cache would became too hot to touch by the time the system booted and detected no cache. Luckily it was the cache chips not something shorter somewhere, installing new cache + tag got this board up and running + bios settings that stick now with rtc successfully installed …

no what I meant was because he has 133 ram he could clock the cpu up to 133, but if he had 100 ram then clocking the cpu to 133 would most likely not run stable or at all at 133. yeah it also depends on the bios if the fsb can be adjusted, I used to clock alot of Slot 1 cpus that ran at 100fsb to …

And because you have 133mhz ram the cpu could be overclocked to 133fsb with a multiplier 4.5 would nearly touch 600mhz. But a 450mhz is a very nice speed not sure would need more for a retro P2/P3
