AFAIK, the DOS driver is needed for the 360-degree SpinControl Knob to work, by making it look like a mouse.. or something like that. Might also be needed for the throttle control (not sure). On the box, it says that the package includes both Win95 and DOS drivers.. So they must have some use.. ( …

I got two MS Sidewinder FF USB wheels, and NFS 2 SE doesn't work with force feedback (or at least - I didn't manage to get them to work) NFS3 works tho.. kinda glitchy, but works. My setup was WinXP with the MS S.W. v4.0 software/drivers for Win98 (which surprisingly, work fine on XP).

It's gonna be a bit of a pain... but I have a capacitor meter, and plan to desolder and measure some caps on the board that look identical to those that are missing. So i think/hope it is in the realm of possibility to fix it. Thank you again Doornkaat, for the very useful directions 😀
