The bad caps in the nineties seemed to go into a lot of game systems, less so into personal computers, which is why the first mod to be performed after acquiring things like the TurboGrafX 16 and the Game Gear are to replace the capacitors.

After I cobble together three more that don't look absolutely awful, I'll put up the second set. Been awake too long, and it's becoming hard to focus or visualize anything, so I can't finish the Tyrian or Worms icons yet. That will have to wait until morning.

Screwing around with making new 16 color (Windows colors) icons. Made one for Doom, Keen, IE, and Duke (just the nuke symbol). If I can be bothered to whip up a few more, I'll have another useless Windows 3 icon pack to put out.

My Vectra 486/66 XM has a 14 pin VGA port too, but I just bought a 14 pin VGA cable to save myself the hassle of boring out a hole or damaging a cable. Shame the system itself hates CDROM drives.

One of the old CD lens cleaner discs would work fine, if you can get it to play the disc past the brush track. Alternately, disassemble the drive and clean the lens directly. You just have to take the outer steel shell and front faceplate off. PITA, really.

Pretty much every hit for this board online is people looking for the manual. Couldn't find much even on Searx.me, but a code 2A59GT4BC pointing to the same board. That didn't turn up anything productive, though. Mainly sites talking about Intel Triton stuff.

If a resistor blew, it's possible other components were damaged in the process. I would look around for someone with the same board who could take a macro photo of the area, then order replacement parts, then begin replacing most of the components connected in serial or parallel with that resistor. …
