Getting some great ideas for stuff to try on my PC-4600, though that suffers from massive blur issues. It does have CGA, but appears to support Herc as well. I wonder actually if CGA simulation in Herc mode would give better displays in some instances, since default it doesn't seem to greyscale or …

I wrote a loader that fixes the hercules option in OUTRUN here Brilliant, thank you very much! You're awesome. I will give this version a test ride on real Hercules hardware when I have a moment (might be until weekend) and post photos here. This is a good thread to collect everything hercules :D …

Could someone try this on 386? I used to play Doom on 386DX 40MHz ca. 93-94 and it was smooth enough that I do not remember any stuttering or slowdowns. However, when looking on the internet these days, it seems barely playable on 386. Either my memory is seriously failing me or there 's some other …

The mode 5 palette was actually not that rare. It seemed particularly common in French games, for some reason (maybe because it's as close as CGA gets to the tricoleur ? 🇫🇷) ;) Could you list a few? I have a soft spot for French games (Silmarils, Kalisto, Loriciels etc.). I should make my own list …
