Yeah, I know Windows uses it, because the performance difference is incredible. I've never seen anything else use it, however.

So, I tried two different serial mice and two different serial IO cards on the 386 and can't get it working. If anyone can think of anything simple I'm missing, I'm all ears. In its place, I built a Pentium 4 HT machine with a 6800GT. Away for work this week, pics incoming.

Thanks, matze79! I won't be able to try it out until Friday, and I'll report in on the progress. I'm a little worried, however. The HDD was SCANTLY populated with anything. Perhaps it's on the ROM.

I just booted from my 128mb CF card!!! I installed the EZDriveW overlay. This was a bit wonky, and didn't go as PhilsComputerLab's video did. First, when I created the EZDrive disk from the executable on my 286, it didn't set it to boot (it wasn't formatted with /s originally, so maybe that's why). …

I have the exact same issue on a 286x mobo in a HP Pack Mate III. If you get it working, let me know. My symptoms are exactly the same as yours, down to can get a dir listing, copy files over, but it borks when reading anything.

P15 worked! 1.4GHz. In a fit of joy, I upgraded a Geforce3 to a Geforce4 ti4200. Running 3DMark2001SE now. Thanks, guys! I've been requested to see if I can extract the default Intel BIOS boot splash logo. Does anyone know how to do this? edit: 8482 w/ Geforce ti4200 on 3dmark2001SE
