Adding a DVI Port to a Graphics Card?

I have a Leadtek GeForce2 Pro which has solder markings for a DVI port. I'm currently unable nor do I want to do such a mod, but I've been wondering if it's as simple as 1 2 3 to just solder a DVI connector into the socket. Has anyone here ever done this to a card before?

Windows ME/2000 "WebView" Images in Explorer

I'm currently trying to make a fully genuine looking WinME/2K theme for Windows 98 SE. So far I have the icons, desktop color, title bars and sounds ready, however I've noticed that some Plus! themes can modify the cloudy background in the top left in Explorer. Upon further inspection I found out …

Re: Hybrid Leadtek GeForce2 GTS/PRO?

Yes, early SGRAM DDR tend to run quite hot. Are they 6ns (GTS) or 5ns (Pro)? Not sure if this is related, but I have Leadtek GeForce 2 Ultra with Leadtek GTS 64mb BIOS flashed for some reason. I'm not sure about the speed, the chips are from ASCEND and they don't seem like they want to be …

Hybrid Leadtek GeForce2 GTS/PRO?

Since my last purchase of a GeForce2 GTS was a failure, upon finding another deal for a reasonable price I decided to take it. Re: Win98SE Loading Unusually Slow

Do you have an Ethernet card installed and no cable connected? That's the most common reason for slow booting of Win95/98, as it waits quite a bit for a DHCP server to answer, not knowing that no cable is attached to the Ethernet card. Could've been that, as my ethernet cable is pretty loose, …

Win98SE Loading Unusually Slow

Just recently, my retro PC started loading really slowly. Normally it'd spend 10 seconds on the cloudy "Windows 98" loading screen then 3 seconds in the DOS prompt before the desktop appears. All of a sudden it's taking over 30 seconds after a fresh install and have no idea what's happening. I even …

Maximum Network Speed on Win 95/98/SE

Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to figure out why my retro PC's network speed is being limited. It has a beefy enough network card installed, one with the Intel PRO 100 chipset, which can transfer data as fast as 100Mb/s. My ISP is providing us PPPoE gigabit ethernet with 300Mbps and 150Mbps …

Dead GeForce2 GTS

Hello VOGONS, I found a great deal for a GeForce2 GTS on eBay recently. The seller claimed it was fully operational when I bought it and I absolutely couldn't wait to try it so I went to get the package yesterday and when I installed it, the system wouldn't POST. When I got the card out of the …
