Re: Homemade speakers are buzzing

The Creative card shouldn't have a problem with TRS connector being inserted into its output connector(s). In worst case you can use a low value resistor (say 10 ohms) between the ring and sleeve if things end up not working on the Creative card.

Re: Homemade speakers are buzzing

A socket only meant to accept TRS connector can have its Sleeve contact be in multiple locations (depending on particular manufacturer) and the whole premise is that it happens to connect where the 2nd Ring is, it is the only thing I can think of being able to cause such a problem. Re: PCI Latency Timer info

It means how long can a PCI device hog the bus before another thing gets its turn. If some other device begins to suffer (such as getting stuttering in sound) you want to reduce the value. Otherwise keep it high as it allows more data to be passed in single bus transaction.

Re: Setup for recording (DOS) audio

I have been using a card named ESI Juli@ for all my stuff, it is an actual production orientated card that has no resampling and other stuff getting in the way. I have been most happy with the results it can provide, just be sure not to miss the breakout cable as that's where all the digital I/O and …
