I have used white insulation tape and just written what the cable is, or sometimes a white sticker on a cable where I write what the cable is. If I had a label printer I would use one instead.

Some boards require turbo header to be explicitly set for normal operation. Untied inputs can and will randomly toggle. The scan does show a jumper in place though...

The WDM driver in Windows isn't gonna work with most DOS games in any reliable way. For actual DOS use you need to use SETUPSA from Yamaha's driver or my SETYMF. Few games sometimes do something after PnP init but the card isn't actually properly set up by the BIOS for anything besides letting PC …

The PCI YMF7xx chips themselves are 3.3V devices and have no issues with 3.3V only power. I think I have seen at least one card made with dual notches.

Are you using WDM drivers (ones built into Windows) ? If yes then things will not work right, you're supposed to use Yamaha provided VXD drivers. You can find them along with my custom DOS setup utility (SETYMF) here : http://www.tmeeco.eu/TKAYBSC/

There are databooks with listings of part names from various manufacturers but I haven't actually taken any closer looks at them. I tend to exhaust my stash before even thinking of tring to buy new/compatible chips when I would need to know alternative part numbers.

That's a standard 16bit wide 256Kbit sized DRAM, other DRAMs with such arrangement have same pinout and work same way and are direct substitutes.

As far as memory goes (both ROM and RAM), they're nearly always following some JEDEC standard thus pinout and operation will be same as most other memories. For other types of chips there's no such kind of standardisation besides 74 and 4000 series logic chips.
