Re: Windows XP DSR / Downsampling

I have not measured the input lag (dont have the necessary equipment) but the lag was definitely noticeable which is I think important to note. I think this is normal to happen even when you adjust in-game post-process or AA effects. When I play Battlefield(BC2) online for example I only use 4xDSR …

Re: Windows XP DSR / Downsampling

Lets look at some seemingly identical screenshots :) NOTES: - Click here for examples of notable areas >>> - The difference in visual quality is much more apparent when you are moving around in-game compared to just looking at static screenshots, but it is easier to compare the various methods with …

Re: Windows XP DSR / Downsampling

Technically the best option would be sparse-grid SSAA (SGSSAA) on NV. If you can get it to cooperate with your game. AMD SSAA is similar to that. DSR is certainly the least troublesome though. You can actually do SSAA and transparency SGSSAA at the same time I think, for example I can select: "32xS …

Re: Windows XP DSR / Downsampling

Try older driver like 307 series or 341 series. Thanks for the tip but are you referring to something specific from above or is that just a general recommendation? 32xS is SuperSampling with MSAA 8x (it's AntiAliasing, not DSR to be strict). Basicly for 1080p it means 4k with MSAA 8x on top. So …

Windows XP DSR / Downsampling

The latest XP NVIDIA driver 368.81 does not include official DSR support but I think there are ways to achieve downsampling, at least for some games. I wanted to share my findings and perhaps someone else around here has more experience with this and would like to chime in. I was comparing registry …

Re: Windows 98SE USB drivers issue (P55 chipset)

Okay, mass storage is working fine, transferring files worked. I have installed VBE9x (http://www.navozhdeniye.narod.ru/vbe9x.htm) and switched to true color 1600x1200, works fine but it had zero influence on the mouse issue. It actually showed that its probably not mouse acceleration but regular …

Re: Windows 98SE USB drivers issue

So the current state is: - Keyboard: okay - Mouse: clicking okay, movement is very very bad, some sort of acceleration going on - Mass storage (flash drives): seems okay at first glance - Boot time is about 10 seconds longer now, during this extra time it shows black screen with blinking cursor (no …

Re: Windows 98SE USB drivers issue

If you have USB emulation enabled in the BIOS I think this would make sense - the BIOS would be telling Windows 98 that those devices are PS2 or something like that. Yes, that would make sense, but I can only speculate due to my inexperience with these things. By the way, when I DISABLED "BIOS EHCI …

Re: Windows 98SE USB drivers issue

I really doubt that there are no chipset drivers. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005533/software.html Thanks, I have yet to inspect this resource fully but so far I only found stuff for 5 series chipset for Win2k+, not to mention P55 wasnt specifically listed there. But …
