PQ uses a Dos program anyways. Ya it installs on 98 but the actual program runs in dos. I don't know of any partition resizers for DOS except for PQ. GParted is a linux based that will run from a CD, that one is free. I have pq8 so I know. Gparted takes a long time to boot on a slow computer, and …

if you have the second edition of 98 theres no need to install any updates unless you have a problem. Id advice against it. You computer can't even play dx7 games so theres no value in updating dx7. It's also so old and slow that even if there was a browser that was worth using on 98 it would take …

did you install CRIMMs in the remaining ram slots? pretty sure you need them. All rdram is not the same as well you must have compatible type of ram as well as crimms or it wont work.

ME is fine if you are using it the way Bill wanted you to. It was an attempt by MS to move 9x further away from its 16bit roots with the same gui enhancements found in win 2000. For retro gaming its not as good as 98se as the vintage hardware support isn't as good and the dos support isn't as good. …

It's not just DMA mode and transfer speed, they don't have dram cache so. Dram cache for SSDs would increase performance in PIO mode, Id think even a traditional HDD with a large cache would perform better than a CF card in PIO mode even if the cache isnt used the same way as it is on a SSD.
