DVI to HDMI

I’m wanting to know what I need in order to connect this PC (http://imgur.com/HmHdVUn) to an HDMI display. I have this adapter- (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B2HP9T2?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_yo_pop_mb_pd_t2#nav-search-keywords). Thank you so much in advance. Will this work? https://www.amazon.com/ …

Re: WinG

Thank you so much for explaining the history of it. It sounds as if it worked pretty well for its purpose at the time albeit short lived. I doubt there are many titles at all that used it since DirectX took over so soon afterwards. I agree with you now that I know it’s purpose/lifespan. Thanks …

Re: WinG

Wing is originated from the late 16-bit Win3x era. The 32-bit version of WinG (Wing32.dll) is actually only a wrapper around native Win32 API calls since the (at the time) new Win32 API supports all the functionality that required special drivers on 16-bit Win3x. WinG is nothing more than a DIB …

Re: WinG

WinG is a completely different library so software that use WinG use completely different API calls than software that use DirectX/Glide. DgVoodoo has wrappers only for DirectX/Glide. So it simply will not work. You simply have no idea how much I greatly appreciate your response. I was leaning …

Re: Opinions on VM Testing Success

Adding files/folders even to system folders cannot do any harm if existing files are not overwritten. The same also holds for the registry. Just make sure the registry files you import only contain entries that belong to the particular software you want to migrate. Do not overwrite system settings …

Opinions on VM Testing Success

Would you trust it’s okay and safe to add files/folders/registry key to your host system if it worked perfectly well in the same bit OS? I tested in my 64 Bit Vista and it worked so am wanting to implement it into my host 64 bit Windows 10. Am just looking for personal opinions. Thanks in advance.

Re: Transferring 32 Bit Game Files

oh i see, well that could be difficult..... but there is one last idea that comes to mind and i have seen it done and there are instructions online how to do it, but i havent done it myself and that is to install windows 95 through dosbox, which is of course a emulator for dos, but which you can …

Re: Transferring 32 Bit Game Files

okay i have tried to see if i could install the game with alternative setup.exe files but its a no go - even when put the setup32.exe into different install folders for the game, it is the same come error message that _setup.dll and _ires.dll (or something like that, i have deleted it all now) are …

Re: Transferring 32 Bit Game Files

thanks for your reply - the method i mentioned here does definitely work for some games, i have used it to get quite few old windows 95/98 games working on windows 10 (though often some other further programs and tweaks are needed too ) i see it was from 1996 - was it made for windows 95? windows …

Re: Transferring 32 Bit Game Files

have you tried installing the game just with a 32bit installer (typically an installshield installer)? you probably have tried it already but i will just repeat here in any case : copy contents of the game cd over to a folder on your own drive and stick the 32bit installer exe in that folder and …

Re: Transferring 32 Bit Game Files

Probably not. There is the registry, and there are files on the disk. Theoretically, an installer can add any file at any arbitrary place, and the game executable will be looking for it. So you should search for changes across the entire drive. Typically, it will be either in the game installation …

DgVoodoo 1 Working?

How do you determine if DgVoodoo is in fact compatible and working with a game? I’ve put the .dll’s and setup within the folder containing the game’s .exe but realized there’s no watermark feature like DgVoodoo2 has..
