I am not sure why you would risk water on a circuit board... there is a better alternative. Get 5$ worth of 91% isopropal alcohol and a tooth brush, and scrub vigorously, but without much pressure. I wouldn't risk water on a circuit board when alcohol works even better and far less conductive.
