I haven't read about any complaints with ATI drivers around here. The reason they don't get recommended that often is that don't support 8 bit textures for table fog. Increasingly I am coming to believe that really doesn't matter that much.

I ran a couple benchmarks with it in XP a while ago and it was very fast. I think I was somewhere around 300fps-400fps in quake III. The bridge chip is probably why it runs so poorly in 98. The late driver version doesn't help.

That's an interesting approach. Longer strings are harder to brute force, but there are other ways to prevent that and you don't need more than about 11 characters anyway. I guess you can't be too careful 😁.

Maybe someone knows better than me, but I am not aware of a different kind of momentary power switch than what we have today. The most likely scenario is that the motherboard is defective. You can try bridging the switch with a screw driver. I would look at the caps around the power delivery.
