Re: FastDoom. A new Doom port for DOS, optimized to be as fast as possible for 386/486 personal computers!

- Add SBK soundfont support for AWE32/AWE64 sound cards, command line parameter "-sbk" to select the SBK. Also thanks to Tronix286. Very nice to get SBK SoundFont support for AWE cards natively! Why is this a thing? Can't it be loaded at driver level in DOS and then the card can be used …

Re: DOS not enough memory

Did you set DOS=HIGH,UMB line prior HIMEM.SYS and EMM386? Are both the DOS CD driver and MSCDEX (in AUTOEXEC.BAT) being loaded high using DEVICEHIGH and LH respectively? I will show you examples on how you set this in case. In CONFIG.SYS (I put VIDE-CDD.SYS as we don't know which CD driver are you …

Re: Table Fog & 8-bit Paletted Textures

I've heard about this before (the fact that some drivers are apparently faster on processors that support SSE2), but I consider it more of an urban legend than anything else. Anyway, there might be an advantage on Pentium 4 (I only tested one driver version with my Pentium 4 builds, so don't know …

Re: It's 1997, and the System I just Bought to Replace my 1994 System has just ONE available ISA slot for the Sound Card

Would you choose the Vibra 16S for the 1997 system over the AWE32 and keep the AWE32 available for an older system? Between these two sound cards I would keep the AWE32 over the Vibra16S. The MPU-401 emulation thru the EMU8K (especially with SF2 SoundFonts in Windows) can be used to get around the …
