Just put windows 11 on my pro desk (not a compliant system but I don't mind) runs much the same as windows 10 except now I have encrypted DNS on the system than just the web browser. HP has a GPU addon option I'll look into it if the memory expansion doesn't make me happy.

as long as they are put into the bios correctly they should work unless one is dead. windows or not.

i tried to put an Gainward Nvidia GeForce 6800 GS 512MB NA/6800GXTD52-PM8370 gpu into an abit vp6 but the bios didn't agree. I therefore put it in a hot Prescott machine (foxconn agp Socket LGA775) it runs at 8x but its set for 4x for stability with the slower than DDR2 memory running at 400mhz. …

It can depend if your GPU can handle higher rates vs screen resolution on 98se i use 1024x768 it allows more hertz such as 75, 85 and so on; higher screen resolutions lower hertz. But LCD don't support more than 60hz FYI if your trying LCD (without overclocking)

have you looked at its manual to see if the jumpers are correctly in place for the pentium because that can also cause the problem due to timings and voltage.
