DFI K6XV3+/66 - BIOS mod/patch to disable ACPI IRQ (re: IRQ 2) ?

Are there any BIOS mods or patches for the DFI K6XV3+/66 to release IRQ 2 from ACPI? The BIOS has an option to disable ACPI but according to MQDIAG (from PCMIDI), IRQ 2 is still not available. I've tried using ModBin to modify the BIOS but I don't even see the hidden option that I can enable. …

PCMIDI ideal settings are IRQ2 and address 330 (you might need to disable ACPI and revert to APM in the MVP3 mobo bios to get back control of IRQ2) Thanks so much for the help and explanation! Sorry to post to this extremely old topic but does anybody have soggi's modified BIOS for the DFI K6XV3+/66 (rev B2) ? I'm hoping it allows disabling of ACPI to free IRQ 2 for PCMIDI/Orpheus 2. Also, what is the VIA 4-in-1 driver mentioned here?

Interesting and thanks again! I'm using something like the bottom picture (ie. motherboard doesn't have gameport or built-in sound) but it's working. Maybe someday I'll find a panel like the first one you listed (but with gameport/sound blocked). Thanks again! 😀

Thanks very much for the information! I found a spare I/O shield in my spare parts that matches (with a few extra/empty ports). I might pickup that one you mentioned though but we'll see.

Thanks for the explanation even if I don't quite understand all of it :) When I was looking for modern SSD drives, the Crucial MX500 was the cheapest decent drive but the smallest capacity was 250 GB. I'm not worried about using all the space though. I think that 64 GB would have been plenty but …

Thanks very much! It's probably not worth the effort since 128GB should be plenty (MORE than plenty!) for Win98 and I'd like to avoid the hassle of separate boot drives, etc.

OK - Thanks! If the BIOS only supports 28 bit LBA does that mean I can use/partition the 128 GB and it will safely ignore the rest of the drive?

Thanks for the reply! I think it's 28 bit LBA because that's limited to 137 GB, right? 48 bit LBA supports up to 144 PB. I'm not concerned about the loss of disk space (ie. not using the full 250GB HDD) but I just want to make sure there is no data corruption or other problems.
