Re: AWE32 emulation?

Could someone tell me, these games uses AWE32 for music or SFX playback? If game uses AWE32 for SFX playback loading soundfonts is useless because game talks to hardware directly. Current emulators can not emulate AWE32, they know only midi and soundfonts will be heard when they are used for midi …

Re: I'm looking for CM-32L ROM

" And it takes remarkably little effort for me to say that it's irrelevant since nobody has those ROMs" That is why some smart people should create ROM similar to original one. I agree with Moe, there is better any emulation than none.

Re: I'm looking for CM-32L ROM

OK Now I understand this strange behaviour. Japanese have their own culture and thats all. But there must be other way to bypass this legal obstacle. Maybe a new, compatible ROM should be made with custom samples? If everything will stay as is we will never gain access to CM-32L emulation. How look …

Re: I'm looking for CM-32L ROM

As I said, know about this address with manuals. Emulator without ROM is useless, the same is with broken hardware CM-32L. The best way is to use wavetable synth (if it uses GS or XG have CM-32L sounds, 16bit quality, no hiss) with midi filter-splitter to load custom samples via DirectMusic. Roland …

Re: I'm looking for CM-32L ROM

I know about this adress and some things more. By talking 'remember' I thought customer service with spare parts, product description etc. If you find ROM files or any LA product info on Roland website let me know.

Re: I'm looking for CM-32L ROM

Do you have any proof that it's not? Do not have to to have proof: Everything what is not forbidden is allowed. If CM-32L ROM would appear on Net and Roland would tell to remove it - it should be removed. But if there is no ROM on Net we do not know Roland's attitude to CM-32L ROM distribution. I …

Re: I'm looking for CM-32L ROM

Do you have proof this is illegal? As far as I know Roland did not show any documents which could strongly confirm this. I browsed Roland website and the CM-xxx series are cutters, signmakers. We are talking about sound modules. There is difference between cutters and sound modules. I'm sure that …

Re: Can I use the rom from a LAPC-1?

Also, the LAPC-I isn't the most feature-packed synth. The CM-64 adds the rompler functionality of the CM-32P/U-110, and the CM-500 adds SC support on top of that. There are also various other MT-32 derivatives with sequencers (MT-100), arrangers (RA-50) and keyboards (E-20) built in. CM-64 == CM- …

Re: The future of Dosbox development

You are basically saying: write me a new program (something like VDMsound). That "disabling" you are speaking is not something which could be easily done, just if programmers were not too lazy to add options for it ... The whole architecture would have to be rewritten (basically it would be another …
