Very cool. I love testing different cards. I have settled on a build for my P4 though and I'm using an NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1.5 Gig card. I was also testing different drivers, and im not sure if im fully settled on the driver yet. That´s a very beefy card for a P4 based system. To much card for it …

Hi guys. Been benchmarking the refered cards on a Asus P4800P with a P4 NW 3.0GHz and 1Gb Dual Channel DDR400 CL-2-2-2-5. Very interesting results with various drivers and FX3000 softmod to FX 5900 Ultra included. Doom 3 runs surprinsingly well on the 9800 XT, considering it´s nvidia territory. FX …

Some flux and a hot air wand. Re seat it. But it may be safer to just disable the on motherboard cache if you have a k6-3 the performance difference can be pretty small. Sometimes disabled can actually be faster. Probably not on your motherboard though with 100mhz fsb Try disabling system bios …

Lovely hardware. Just slap the X1950 Pro in it with A64 4000+ San Diego and give it a minor OC to 2.6. It´s a very easy OC on the system and CPU and you dont need the extra core for up to 2006 games.

I'm currently using 71.89 on my s754/6800 rig. No artefacting in DX9 games (FarCry) and nGlide works fine too. Haven't tested 8x.xx. (I forgot at what version FarCry and CS get broken textures. I've got a 9500GT DDR2 which is basically an 8600GT which performance wise is very similar to a 7600GT and I've wondered how it would compare to the 6800 series. @rcarkk What are the CPU temps? Regarding PSU, back in the day (early 2000s) it was common for such PSUs to go out with magic smoke. In most cases it happened with socket A systems. Could be because of weird crossload (5V and 12V). I had Chieftec (Sirtec) 420W die on me in warranty with Athlon XP …
