I have over ten thousand data points from before Phil's benchmark pack, am I supposed to adjust them retroactively because someone made a zip compilation? I've been messing with retro hardware since I got an XT in the late 90s. When Phil's pack came out I immediately switched to it. For reasons which should be obvious. Convenience > all, especially when it comes to repetitive tasks

I bench everything to "phil standard" because frankly it is the most accessible benchmark pack that everyone uses. Expecting someone to change default settings vs extract and go is ill-advised

These cards have their own option ROM that scans for attached drives just like a SCSI card. The main system BIOS will still not show any HDD detected.

My board uses a simple LC filter with the 470uH/47pF giving a ~1MHz cutoff. This isn't a part of the design that a ton of thought went into admittedly, but it seems to work well so I stuck with it
