I always use plus themes on my retro 9x builds. The one exception is the 386sx16 I have running 95, it's just too slow for any window dressing

Gmlb256 is correct. You must select the General MIDI music output option in the setup program of any DOS games you want to run within win9x using soundfonts. Neat. I actually do have a spare socket 8 board now that I got my slocket 8 working in a P3B-F. Might be fun to throw a cumine in the socket 8 to balance out the pentium pro in the BX board

I mean the "8GB limit" only applies to the capacity you can use. There is nothing stopping you using the first 8GB of a 140GB drive if you want to!

You actually can load soundfonts in XP if you use the NT4 driver for the synth and run AWE Control Panel in NT4 compatibility mode.
