Yes the twist will be a problem. You can take the back of the card slot IDC connector off and untwist the cable easily enough. As for the data cable, I just bought 20 pin IDC connectors from ebay and made my own

You can probably issue a command in DOS DEBUG to enter the SCSISelect and enable the ctrl-a prompt. That's how you do it on normal adaptec cards once you've disabled it

In addition, when using an XT class controller on an AT class system, you must set the CMOS setup to "no hard drives"

Received my set of 10x fake ISSI 10ns 128kx8 chips today from the seller linked by pshipkov. Out of the 10 I received, two tested bad in the TL866 SRAM test. The rest good. Which is ok I guess since I really only needed 8, but buyer beware! Are they tested at the 10ns timing as well, or is it a …

You don't necessarily need to desolder, you can just cut the trace - or even add a pull up/down depending which logical state the chip looks at as color. Many of the trident 8900 cards I've worked with even have a jumper to override the monitor detect

I also upgraded from an Extron 300A to the OSSC. The Extron is a fantastic device, but the sharpness of the OSSC being a pure line multiplier is superior. The Extron also adds a frame of lag, whereas the OSSC does not
