HOTU also has the CD-Rip version, but it hasn't been posted yet. ask for it on their message board, it's really worth it. As for the joystick problem, I can't be of any help, as I've always played this game thorugh keyboard.

This game used to have Adlib / Soundblaster sound in v0.63, but although it still works fine under v0.65 no sounds are heard.

By the wat, editing the virtual partition with WinImage wouldn't help much, as soon as you try to add anything bigger than a couple of megs it complains there's no enough space available.

Yes, try the CD version, it includes both the Speech Pack and the Tactical Ops addons already installed, plus a lot of fixes. You can get it from this section of Home of the Underdogs: No you can't.

Yes, that's true, at least according to what I've heard. The problem is that in both emulators a pain it can get tricky to share files between your computer and the virtual machine if you've only installed plain DOS. I still have a disk with CD-ROM drivers for DOS, and I use to create ISO files with …

Mmm... Is there any frontend out there that allows to see / change the modem configuration? I'm a dummy when it comes to command line stuff, and I can't see those settings in DBGL or D-Fend.

Aw, forget it. Just checked my favourite frontend and seems that DOSBox only supports the IPX network protocol. This means that even if I install winsock, the TCP/IP network protocol for Windows 3.X it won't work.

I say "if it's not broken don't fix it". I *always* use DOSBox through frontends like D-FEnd and DGBL, but you can't telli fthey will coninue to be in development as new versions of DOSBox appear. Packaging the emulator with one of the frontends could mean the end of the rest, and then nobody is …

I was told once on this board that for some reason the MS-DOS install doesn't work properly under DOSBox. Try instead to install from QEMU and then use the resulting diskfile with DOSBox.
