Is the memory on your card clocked at the standard 460MHz? Mine is WAY underclocked to 280MHz. I couldn't imagine that they would ship a crippled card to reviewers.

It is clocked at 200 MHz Core and 279 MHz Memory. Die says NV20, not Geforce3. This card confuses me. Very early, A3 core, and underclocked memory. Engineering BIOS. No ramsinks, and the card was found in the Seattle area.

NV20 is a Geforce 3. Probably a Geforce Ti-200 based on the fan and heatsink size. I see a part/board number in top right but can't make it out, can you take take a better "non angled" picture ? Picked this up today. Anyone know what variation of Geforce3 this is? NV20 is printed on the die, not Geforce3. No other identifying marks that bring up anything helpful on google.

I slapped in my new ti500 in my Tualatin rig to replace the ti4200 that was in it. Went to RE-PC today and found a perfectly clean ti500. I hope that it works. I also got a Vortex2, YMF724, and an ESS ISA sound card. It works! but the fan is loud as heck.

I love those brushed aluminum mid-2000s cases. I have a Lian-li PC-V1000 for my main pc, a Japanese Abee case for my Tualatin PC and a Silverstone HTPC case for my K6-3 PC. Nice aesthetic.

For a cheap DX7 card, a Geforce4 mx440 is a good deal. Just make sure you get a 128bit version. They'll perform on par with a high-end Geforce2 series. Radeon 9100 is a good substitute for an 8500. 9600 Pro is about as high as I would go for a budget Windows 98 build. Everything beyond that is …

For true DOS, nothing competes with an ISA card. My Vortex2 card has only worked with an SiS735 board in DOS mode, and it didn't sound very nice. It didn't work with my Aladdin V, i815, and Nforce2 boards. I have never been able to get my Yamaha 7x4 cards to work reliably in DOS.

Nice collection. I'm not much of a collector, but the cards that I hang on to are the more oddball cards. My keepers include later AGP cards like the 6800, or Dual GPU cards like the 7950gx2. Also, one-off cards with no lineage. The Diamond Stealth II G460 comes to mind.
