I will assume that you got the driver connected to scsi card, and scsi card bios does recognized the tape drive. And you currently seeing yellow mark in the device manager because there are no driver for the tape drive. windows 10 backup does not support the tape drive, so you can see it but you …

Today i got another compaq ap550 and while cleaning the PSU, i also take note of the wire, so the PS_ON signal is the white one, and it need to trigger high to power on, to power up the PSU, connect it to the 3.3vsb (purple color) .

i guess you can keep it, the bios is socket-ed so you can take the bios chip or using the board as a cheap bios programmer (i'm using an old asus 865p board to flashing the bios w flashrom)

replace the two broken smd cap on the XW8000 mainboard, which is the reason for the AGP slot does not recognized any graphic card i plugged in 😁 the board still have some problem with cold boot... but it still nice that the AGP slot is now working.

I received the 3 motherboard from yahoo japan yesterday, and all three have blown cap 😁 the MSI 875p master FA is a 875p chipset yet it does not support prescott cpu, kind of weird since the mainboard is geared toward the workstation folk.

I thinks these 10uF, 100uF, 470uF mostly for power rails filter and they rarely failed, unless your mainboard suffer catastrophe power surge or the capacitor brand is known to failed then you need to replace them.

My machine still in working order, so i simply power it up and measure the voltage directly from the back of connector. (This PSU should have PS_ON, i suspect that the mainboard must pull that pin to HIGH to power on, maybe pin 13)
