For file transfer I often use a network card instead of a usb stick or CF card. You can grab Mtcp software for msdos TCP support. Find the packet driver for your network card. Then set up your retro rig's entire drive as an FTP server. Connect it up to your network or use a utp crossover cable. Then …

One system I'm still looking for is a 10mhz turbo XT 8086 / nec v30. There is a really nice VTech Laser XT3, with mhz LCD.. lovely case. Or a custom build with a Juko Nest board.

Might be a low-end motherboard, but I think it should be able to handle ROTT. ROTT is running an enhanced Wolf3D engine, so any 486 should be able to run it.
