RAR 3.93 is 32-bit. The last 16-bit version is 2.50, no LFN support.

IBM 5151 (MDA monitor) is known to be easily damaged by incorrect input signal. But no such warnings about IBM 5153 (CGA) or 5154 (EGA).

The end of an era would be if everyone stopped making laser printers. But there's still Brother, Canon, HP, Lexmark, Oki, Xerox... Epson wasn't even a major player in that field - I've seen plenty of dot-matrix and inkjet printers from Epson, but probably not a single laser one.

Such cards are usually called SBC = Single Board Computer. The slot standard is PICMG = PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group. See eg. this - Advantech backplane with 2xPICMG + 2xSBC = dual-processor?

You can try something like "badblocks -s -v -w /dev/hda" - it overwrites the entire disk with various patterns, several times, which may force relocation of the bad sectors. But don't expect miracles...
