it took me almost a month once to figure out why a program we used at work wouldn't work anymore on some PCs until I realized a windows update broke it, I didn't even know an update was installed because while transitioning offices the new IT did a "test install" of the update on one PC... and then …

well hdd access indicators are pretty useless in modern windows systems anyways, back then they used to indicate that your drives are busy loading something or still writing data... nowadays your drive is always busy because windows thinks it needs to index this and that and shuffle around it's page …

my main PC is in a black bland big tower without a window... does have a blue power LED though (that is covered x3 because it's annoying) I have to admit though that I did mod my old In-Win back in the day with a blue and red LED :3

@imi: Apple might not be dominating the home consumer market in computers, but I noticed two things from the two links you posted. 1. The first (lowendmac) is from 2003. 17 years ago. A lot as changed since then, so we can agree that this one doesn't count, right? 2. This one is good since it spans …

I am not bias towards any Computer company I just comment on my own experiences and observations. you're also posting a lot of falsehoods though, and it often feels deliberately so. Apple eco-system is dominating the computer and consumer market. this simply is not true, no matter how often you …

I'm about to throw away the original box of a small IBM CRT monitor... it's only a monochrome POS monitor so not that special, but it was nicely boxed, while cleaning up today I noticed mold on the box though, it arrived in pretty rough shape already so I guess this was always there and I haven't …

Re: Ruined memory of an old game by playing it!

but there is sometimes a rude shock when I go back to certain FPS or racing games now that I'm spoiled by modern framerates. I still love Microprose Grand Prix for example, but I'd be more compelled to play a campaign if it wasn't capped at 25fps! I often have the opposite, when I experience a game …

yeah, GTA V, when I tried playing it on PC a few years after I first got it on PS3 and realized I couldn't copy my online character over it ruined the game for me :p but in all seriousness, no not really, I appreciate every single one so far, I even sometimes enjoy having to clean my ball mouse …
