Thank you. Got the pictures of the monitor from my supplier. Can somebody help me identify it? Looks like my hercules monitor. How can it work with a CGA adapter?

Didn't think of that. I don't see the point in deceiving me with the wrong monitor. The card won't work with my monitor so I'll just send it back.

I see what you mean. This is the same game on my Casper monochrome with Hercules card. Does anybody know this game? If he tested it on a CGA monitor, why aren't there any colors?

I think this guy's just trying to sell too hard. I told him that I don't have a CGA monitor and won't have one anytime soon because it's too expensive for me. The supplier claims there are no markings on the monitor so he can't tell the type but says he tried numerous monochrome monitors and all worked fine with CGA. Sounds like total BS to me.

Thank you all, I give up. The font rom works fine on another card so it must be one of the logic ICs. I suck at soldering those so I won't risk further damage unless I know exactly which IC I'm supposed to replace. Too bad, it is a nice card.

Unfortunately I'm very stuck. I measured what I could in-circuit. Either I missed something or one of the ICs are bad. What does the one in the socket (UM2301) do? No datasheet or any info. My other suspect is the 74LS374 above the socketed one, it is connected via the broken trace to a memory chip. …

That trace is okay. I keep looking at the board and checking continuity but no more broken traces.

Okay, I made some progress. After your suggestion I checked around the RAM and found a burned capacitor and a broken trace. I fixed them and these are the results. Some of the characters are missing and appear in the wrong places. Where should I look next? I also included a correct image with a …

I bought a Hercules card that was sold as working OK. I hooked it up with my monochrome monitor (Casper GM-1489/D) but I can't get it to work right. Other Hercules adapters work right with the monitor. It doesn't matter if I change the motherboard, it's the same in every computer (XT, 286, 386). …
