NE2000 connection over wifi?

Been trying to do some TCP/IP experiments with DOSBox Optionals, but I can't connect to the internet because as far as I've read, there isn't a way to connect DOSBox's NE2000 emulation to Wifi, only Ethernet. That being said, is there a workaround for getting my wifi adapter to show up in the …

DOS Front-end launcher for DOOM with DeHackEd support?

in DOS
So, in my quest to streamline my DOS Dooming experience as much as possible, I've decided to take another crack at finding a good WAD launcher for vanilla. Preferably one with a UI, as that feels more like a real frontend. Doom-It 5.9, A Superior Front End, and D!Zone 2.0 beta all cut it super close …

Re: Occasional/Random Stutter

Re: Occasional/Random Stutter

The fact that it's only OpenGL output affected is a very strong indicator. There have been others who made similar reports saying vsync made no difference, only to come back later and admit it wasn't disabled after all because they didn't change the setting in the right place. For reference, I've …

Occasional/Random Stutter

Recently, for some reason, there's this occasional but very noticeable stutter in the video, audio, and MIDI. I've tried pretty much everything suggested online but it's not working. The only solution I've found is switching from OpenGL to a different output which fixes the problem. The thing is, I …

Re: Issues with Hexen II (software mode)

...you just call me a crazy purist? You want to play a 1997 3D game in software mode in legacy resolutions, so purist fits. Crazy because I think your opinion is crazy, but you know, everyone thinks that of others opinions so you really shouldn't care. At any rate, maybe focus on the part of my …

Re: Issues with Hexen II (software mode)

I cannot test it now, but doesn't the game initialize DDraw through OLE (instead of direct access) so you have to hack the proper Windows registry to make it usable with dgVoodoo I thought about mentioning that was one of the ways I tried to break it. It's not that. Another way I tried breaking it …

Re: Issues with Hexen II (software mode)

Before doing that, it's worth to look into the .exe (or dependent dll's in the game folder if there are any) to see if DDRAW.DLL is there. If it is, then it's likely load DDraw directly instead of via OLE. Well it didn't come with ddraw.dll, but I put the one included with dgVoodoo in there to no …

ZellSF wrote on 2020-04-15, 06:58: Works fine here. Can't even figure out a way to break it. Is ddraw.dll in the same directory as h2.exe? Are you sure it's loaded (do you get the dgVoodoo watermark)? Yeah the watermark doesn't even show up when I tried it. And yes, I do have the ddraw.dll file in …

Issues with Hexen II (software mode)

in Windows
I've been trying to get the software version Hexen II working but it has this rainbow effect. My guess is that it has something to do with the color depth and DirectDraw. I assumed that dgVoodoo would be enough to remedy the issue, but it seems like this isn't the case. It didn't even add back the …

Re: [DISCORD] DOSBox Deathmatch Club!

Very cool! Can folks coordinate with eachother to play any game that supports IPX (or just the supported set for now)? I didn't realize just how many DOS games came with IPX support.. Here's MobyGames' list (308 entries!): https://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/attributeId,82/p,2/ Also curious …
