Actually I bet Xbox games are all basically DirectX. The XBOX2 is using a IBM PowerPC chip but a GPU that is likely very similar to a DirectX-supporting PC GPU. So, they could perhaps just need to emulate the CPU, and a triple core PowerPC at 3.5Ghz (assuming the leaks and rumors are correst) …

I threw on headphones and played a little TIE Fighter. Yes, the Yamaha S-YXG50 is absolutely obviously superior to the MS synth. Hell, it's probably equal or better than the Synergi 8MB SF2 I upload to my 8MB SB32 for DOS games. I think the variation, chorus, and reverb that it applies really helps …
