Re: Which one do you guys prefer? Redguard FMV

I don't think you'll see any improvement from a simple reencoding. More likely you'll see a loss of quality. You need to apply some sort of advanced upscaler. Also mkv and f4v are container formats. They don't determine the type of compression used. Thanks for replying. I was wondering already …

Re: Which one do you guys prefer? Redguard FMV

Isn't it obvious that only one of those has the correct aspect ratio? I presume the 240p is normally supposed to be presented with scanlines. I just screenshot the frame of the video player, also I don't understand about aspect ratio, that's why I came to Vogons. I'm starting a project with a …

Which one do you guys prefer? Redguard FMV

These are screenshots in PNG to compare the same frame with this cutscene in various video formats. yes the aspect ratio is wrong but is to compare media formats Original:Smack Video 640x240 Original.png HEVC 640x240 HEVC.png F4V 640x240 f4v.png MKV 640x240 mkv.png Which one is with the best quality …

Re: "Store" VDos32 activation?

I want to try VDos32 on another system (to see if it gets around an error I'm having before I try anything more extreme), but that computer has no internet connection and no way to get one. I tried activating on this computer then moving that activated Vdos32 to my other, but it just reports as non …

Re: Repair Windows Xp bootloader

depends how you use the CD, also depending on your case you may not need the CD. You need to be more specific about what happened, how it happened. I already suspect it says NTLDR not preset or something. If your boot sector is corrupt you wont even get the NTLDR message, but that's not the boot …

PCBONEZ wrote on 2019-12-29, 19:09: You can probably find just RAM chips but you are only showing the last part of the model number. . Sorry,i really haven't seen that. The complete name of chip is EliteMT 5.5T 9943s M12L16161A H2692-HE.

Re: Voodoo 3 3000 RAM Fix

Most likely the RAM is on it's way out. Solder/have someone solder new chips on or buy a new V3. H2692-HE is a model number and 9943s is most likely just a date code (of manufacture, 43rd week of '99) I could buy a broken voodoo 3 3000 and try to replace the chips, there's no way i could buy a new …

Voodoo 3 3000 RAM Fix

Hi guys, I discovered a few months that I have a Voodoo 3 3000 16Mb, I tested it, It looks like I have video scratches, possibly caused by some RAM chip, or the chip is bad solder or is dead. I don't know if I send to repair or if I buy a broken Voodoo 3 3000 and replace the chips to see if it works …

Re: Redguard and 3dfx

nGlide is for Windows-based games, Redguard is a DOS game that needs to be installed in Windows. nGlide runs pretty well in Windows 10. I'm playing Redguard in Windows XP Professional x32 with VDMSound,2.2ghz dual-core CPU, runs at least at 20fps in NTVM, VDos32 is rumored to runs even faster and …

GliDOS Hardware Effect

I'm using GliDOS in these few days, is the only glide wrapper that didn't give problems, I'm playing TES Redguard 3Dfx version in Windows XP (I love XP    ) with an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2Ghz, and a GeForce 8400 GS 256Mb, 4Gb of RAM (each 2Gb), works ok, but how this affects …
