Re: Mysterious Mysteries of the Sith CD

in Milliways
My copy of MotS is the North American release labeled 7101830. The SITH.DOC file indicates the following concerning DirectX: Mysteries of the Sith needs to have DirectX 5.0 installed to run. During the installation, you will be prompted to install DirectX 5.0 if it is not already installed on your …

Descent Version 1.4a Alignment Patch

SKARDAVNELNATE has noted that the CD-ROMs of Descent for DOS included in the Descent I and II: The Definitive Collection package that are labeled CD-H95-700-0 cannot be upgraded to Version 1.5 using the official Interplay Version 1.4a=>1.5 patch. Using information provided by SKARDAVNELNATE, I have …

Re: Descent Version 1.5 Patch Fix

in DOS
PlanetDescent and the Descent Network have copies of a Registered Version 1.0=>1.4 patch: http://www.planetdescent.com/site/files/d1/patches/ http://www.descent2.com/patches/d1/ I did a comparison of Version 1.4 and 1.4a installations, and there are four files that are different: README.TXT DESCENTR …

Re: I-war launcher

in Windows
It has been quite some time since I had the program installed, and unfortunately, I don't have any notes on what I did. You might be able to find an answer in one of these forums: http://www.i-war2.com/forum/default.asp http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdis … ?s=&forumid=137

Re: I-war launcher

This thread may also be useful if you are looking for custom missions: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=585651 I don't know if all the links are still valid, but it will give you some file names to search for if nothing else.

Re: Descent Version 1.5 Patch Fix

in DOS
I don't recall ever seeing any patches to or from Retail Version 1.4. There was apparently no patch to get users to Version 1.4 of the shareware version either (it had to be downloaded in its entirety). So this may be another instance of the retail customer being left high and dry by Interplay. If …

Re: Descent (1 and/or 2) & Voodoo

in DOS
I keep notes for applications to remind me how to get things working, particularly things I am liable to forget. Here is the relevant note for Descent: When installing the game under Windows 98 SE, the third-party 3dfx patch can successfully be used to enable Glide support. Before applying the patch …

Re: Descent (1 and/or 2) & Voodoo

in DOS
I don't know if that question is addressed in the downloads for the ports or not. It is probably best to see if the question has been answered in the port projects' forums: http://www.descent2.de/forum/index.php http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/smf/index.php This thread does seem to address the question …

Re: Descent (1 and/or 2) & Voodoo

in DOS
There is a 3dfx Beta Patch at PlanetDescent.com (it's the first file in the Compatibility Patches section): http://www.planetdescent.com/site/files/d1/patches/ I have successfully used this patch with a Voodoo5. As Zup said, the port projects give you a lot of options: D2X-XL http://www.descent2.de/ …
