Re: Windows OPL3 Synthesizer

OK guys. No more Kernel driver anymore! I have updated my forked driver again to announce Hardware OPL3 Passthrough support! inpout32.dll (x86/64-bit compatible) is the used interface for this, and is also open source. (The same DLL used with DOSBOX-SVN DAUM for OPL passthrough) I have also changed …

Re: Windows OPL3 Synthesizer

No, that's because Winamp's MIDI player doesn't reset the driver when changing between tracks so if you were playing a MIDI which had a MIDI channel other than 10 acting as drums, it remembers the Bank Select value from the last MIDI played unless it's been reset. That's partly the reason why I have …

Re: Windows OPL3 Synthesizer

It's working fine now! I wonder what was causing the division by zero though? Caused by me not programming unfinished features defensively enough. Having said that, although it's not perfect yet, I am one step closer to getting those 2x2op banks from Creative, Voyetra, and Roland, onto this …

Re: Windows OPL3 Synthesizer

EDIT: DracoNihil, can you try this version and tell me if there are still any issues? That MIDI works for me with the current build. Apologies for triple-posting. Another update: Win32 Binary: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1287967/opl3driver.rar 2x2op patch bank support. I've included a …

I do have the .SOP from someone else though which isn't as good as this one however. Here's one I recorded a while ago with the YMF724F-V: globe - Feel Like Dance (cover …

Re: Windows OPL3 Synthesizer

Before the year ends, although I haven't progressed with the 4op business, I can say there is an update to the forked OPL3 usermode driver. Fixed the sustain bug (hanging notes on repeated sustained notes should be gone now) Implemented CC126/127 (Mono/legato and Poly mode switches) Refactored note …

On a more semi-related note, this is what the YM3812 can sound like playing a song originally made for YM2151. (cover/conversion by yours truly) Fantasy Zone II DX - Cosmic Dance (OPL2) VGZ | YMF724F-V recording | ESS Solo-1 recording Original: Manabu Namiki, Tokuhiko Uwabo vgm/vgz, use in_vgm/ …

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1287967/RIX_soundtracks.rar This is very-much appreciated, thank-you. I wasn't aware of a proper player for RIX files, but the included one seems to do a legitimate job. It's too bad about the loss of transitioning when played out-of-game, but this is hardly a …

necropost... Its works, thanks for telling me about this. Just need to find a similar feature for "Chinese Paladin" now... :) This won't be necessary anymore. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1287967/RIX_soundtracks.rar PS: I had to manually extract the RIX data of "Empire of the Angel 2" with a …

Re: Windows OPL3 Synthesizer

The main issue is that there doesn't appear to be a compatible way of supporting Win98 WDM drivers without breaking forward compatibility with more common/recent Windows operating systems. One would need to create a new fork dedicated to function for WIn98. Additionally, most games that actaully use …

valnar wrote: I tried loading the User mode driver in a Win98 virtual and it doesn't work. Is the driver not compatible with Win98? No. Also, use DOSBOX if you want to use emulated OPL3 in Win98.

Re: FM emulation accuracy?

So there is another way activate it to Dosbox. Set games' sound to General MIDI or MPU-401 like, and hearing as FM-MIDI. But it COMPLETELY emits disgusting sounds that I have never heard in youth. Lots of games support both MIDI and OPL, but designed music differently in both way. (Attach included, …
