Re: VGA custom resolution

in Marvin \ Video
What's a V-size adjustment? EDIT: Another unrelated question here; can SVGA support custom resolutions? V-size adjustment means just that: a knob on the CRT that adjusts the vertical size of the picture, stretching/compressing it. It's a common enough control on the front panel of most SVGA …

Except for the refresh rate of 60Hz. It causes noticable flicker on a lot of VGA (or Super-VGA) CRT monitors. Yeah, I was shocked recently at how awful Windows 3.1 looked at 640x480x16 @ 60Hz on my Trinitron CRT. It was a hideous flickering mess! Much worse than what I remembered. I made haste to …

Just a follow up - I managed to track down the manual for this card. Attached to this post Thanks for posting the manual for this card! I just found one of these in a recently-acquired "Logi 88-XT". Did you ever find the driver diskette for this card? I'm interested in the ability to switch between …

Re: Which browser do you use?

As a strong supporter of rendering engine diversity, I continue to browse using Firefox. But what I really want to know: which browser do you use on your 486? My attempts to browse the web using Windows 3.1 have been quite a disappointment. MSIE 3.0 actually manages to render a few sites. Netscape …

Re: Collecting rants

Long-time VOGONS lurker here... It's thanks to the crazy-spending collectors that I can afford to have nice retro gear. I can buy a pile of untested scrap, safe in the knowledge that parting out half of it will pay for the other half that I want to keep. Some folks in our hobby don't have the time …
