Seems like a Rpi ZeroW 's secondary memory interface (SMI) can have a speed of 83MBytes/sec. Should be fast enough 😉 A 1x CD-ROM transfers 150KB/sec. Audio shouldn't matter as that can be output out over the Pi's analog audio output. How much overhead does the IDE interface add? I have no idea :-)

Unfortunately, even if done so, Win98SE can't actually fully make use of ExFAT (and DVDs, too) because some system files cannot address more than 4GB (32-Bit). Heck, it can't even handle individual files larger than 4GB, either. :( 🤦‍♂️ That is total bollocks. That's like saying an 8 bit computer …

The radiator should heat up as much as the cpu. if the cpu is a lot hotter than the radiator, chances are high the heat pipe is defective. If you've got access to a flir camera you could visualize it.

This configuration was meant for the XMS option, so you are right there. :P But he might be better without this as this decreases compatibility with some programs. EMS memory were used on old real-mode programs and was faster than XMS on old machines …

no reason to add it. Adding it will use up more memory. Might be useful on certain scenarios though, the more amount of buffers are set the less will read from the CD-ROM directly. I had to use it on a different CD drive for proper functionality and could also be used for other mundane things …

iam using 256mb now cfcard but iam going to upgrade to 4 gb because some games like full throttle are 1.3gb can i make a back of the autoexec and config ? to store on my windows 10 pc yes, that should be possible, somehow... you could also copy it to a floppy disk... if you have one laying around.
