Heads will not move if there is no reason for them to move. If the OS can't find data on track 0 it will not attempt to read the rest of the floppy, since the format is unknown. Does your BIOS have an option to seek floppy drive(s) on boot? If so turn that on and you should see the heads move half- …

I should comment that I already have a P2 Win 98 setup with a Voodoo 3 and a Core 2 Duo XP box with a 750ti. So yes, I really didn't need this machine. But it was $5 cash to walk it out the door...

You missed the OS between 98 and XP. Win2k actually makes a real good alternative to Win98 and alot less hanging, blue screens, etc. I used 2K when it was new. Do you find there's any issue of hum or static with the mini-mixers? My speaker setup is plenty loud I find, but I want clarity. ...or at least no further degradation of the sometimes questionable audio we got from old sound cards.

Just wanted to say thanks for doing this. I received a 486 DX2-50 with a CT2950 but no matter what I tried the system wouldn't see it on Creative's drivers/CTCU. With Unisound it just worked.

Pretty straightforward - I'm using one in a P2 Dell Dimension case and it's running fine, but does the PCI 2000 model benefit from a fan, or is it really needed more from the higher clocked models?
