Audigy 2 ZS it is then. And about late-90s games on a P3 450. I'm playing thru Half-Life on a Pentium MMX 233 right now, so I'm sure I can tolerate it 🤣.

Well I had my mind set on buying a AWE64 Gold to replace my Value one in my Win95 233MMX box. I bought a set of Cambridge Soundworks speakers that as far as I saw have only RCA and SPDIF jacks.

I'm not planning on playing any DOS games on this machine so compatibility is not a issue. The only YMF card I see on eBay is the 724 right now.

I need RCA jacks. The only two sound cards I've seen with them is the AWE64 Gold and the Yamaha SG1000XG which you just said is MIDI only.

Yeah I just lost a AWE 64 Gold on eBay and could really use those RCA jacks. I've read that this card is SB Pro compatible.

Total Commander works flawlessly for Win95. Everything works. It claims to work on Win16 also. I think I'll try it on my WfW 3.11 system, if I can get networking to work.

The last version of Filezilla for Win95 won't connect to Modlands FTP server. Do any of you know of a FTP client that still works? I like listening to module tracks on WinAmp. At some point once, I get a Linux machine going, I also want to be able to move files between the two machines by FTP.

Pentium MMX 200 and 233. I have a VT-503 Socket 7 mobo and as far as I know, the MMX 233 is the fastest CPU that fits. The card is overkill for the CPU, but I'm fine with it.

Ok I'll look into a Rage 128. How's the 2D on them? I still want to play DOS games and from my limited research some 3D cards actually have bugs when playing older 2D games.

Right now I'm using a 4MB S3 Virge DX in my Pentium MMX 200 (soon to be 233) w/ Win95C. It's pretty good for 2D games and Quake era 3D games, but I need more juice. Currently looking at a Matrox G200 8MB. But it apparently has awful OpenGL support unless you do some driver swapping with a later card …

Welp, the one IDE drive I have doesn't actually work anymore. Thankfully, I found better drivers for the Paradrive.

Thank you. I'll give it a shot when I get home. I have a Win 98 startup image already so that's cool. I'm tired of how slow the paradrive runs. I'm afraid of the LG drive being too new to work.

Now that my serial mouse is working I would like to install an IDE CD drive to use with DOS. Right now i'm using a parallel port Backpack CD drive that works but is slower than molasses. The only IDE CD drive I have is a XP-era LG one. Is there a generic DOS driver for CD drives?
