id say the reason people think that is promise website don't have a windows 9x driver listed for it. the oldest os they provide a driver for on there websites is windows 2000. they only officially provide 9x drivers for the older Sata 150 tx2/tx4 cards.

depends. the bios is only half of the issue. if the board can't supply the proper voltages that later coppermine or Tualatin require then u would have to use an adapter like the powerleap pl-ip3/t that has onboard voltage regulation. but those are near impossible to find these days and cost an arm …

most of the fans are just held on by 4 screws going into the fins of the heatsink. just order a fan the same size a nice noctua or noise blocker fan. unscrew the old fan then put the new fan on using the screws from the old fan.

i found out to the lower speeds i was getting happened when a usb flash drive was plugged into a port connected to the usb card but when the drive is unplugged then the speeds are in the 80s

You can always lower the USB polling rate. That will most likely help out with the SATA throughput as the USB card will then be doing less in regards to IRQ transactions. I would try turning Delayed Transaction off, L2 ECC off and the ECC on the RAM off. Try them one at a time. You may be reaching the limit of that board, but I would think you should be able to get a bit higher. Try without the USB 2 card installed as well. delayed transaction is off already. …

acutally the later bios for that board disables the use of the 1.4ghz chips u need either p13 or p14 or p15. u can get p13 or 15 from this post BIOS P14 for D815EEA2
