Re: Full and regular video problems

in DOSBox General
First of all, it's not my own computer... Secondly, robertmo was right! It was a specific game problem and I solved it by adding a special configuration line to the game's config file (as written both in its readme and even in DOSBox' comp_list). This (specific) game still can't run in full screen …

Full and regular video problems

in DOSBox General
Under the video card "Intel Extreme Graphics", Dosbox completly freaks out. The two problems are: 1) The bottom picture also shows up on top - both in a regular and a full video mode. 2) The screen flips to the side - only in full video mode. I've tried playing with all the video settings, but to no …

Re: [ANN]: DOS/32A v7.33 is out

I know the original post was edited, but the topic's name wasn't. So here goes - a new version (7.35) has come out in May. Try and see if it solves more problems. From updates.txt: [2005-05-19] DOS/32 Advanced DOS Extender, version 7.35 ========================================== DOS Extender (DOS32A …

Re: Kaillera and Dos Box....

in DOSBox General
Well, video games (NES, Snes, etc.) do have multiple multiplayer methods (no pun intended). For example, Super Mario Bros. is a hot seat two player game, while WWF Raw is a simultaneous four player game. So it's not true to say that only DOS has more than one method of multiplayer.

Re: Using non standart dos fonts

in DOSBox General
To run mode.com (even if it worked), autoexec.bat is not enough. It also needs config.sys, which DOSBox doesn't support. However, you can use an external font loader, like I did in here (that topic also gives a link to the topic, which gave links to the font loader program).

Re: For the Devs: What direction to want DosBox to go?

in DOSBox General
Hello? Do you realize that lots of old games end up HALTING the computer even on pure DOS because the new computers are just too fast for them? Yet more importantly, do you realize that modern Sound Blasters have no DOS drivers...? And that the same goes for USB mouses...? But if you feel like …

Re: Configuring DOSBox

Strange topic title you picked up... Anyway, don't forget that you'll need to have that custom DOSBox.conf in the folder in which you launch DOSBox (e.g. if you prepared a special shortcut for Lotus that starts in Lotus' folder). That is, unless you've defined DOSBox in your OS' path, of course.

Re: "Alef-Bet" Hebrew word processor

Well, in the process of playing with its files, I accidentally deleted the main file...and I don't think anyone on Earth still has it. So I guess that's the end of this problem... However, if anyone cares, the older version 5.20 does work in DOSBox! Well, except that it always claims that "the file …

Re: vm error [38] internal error message

in DOS
I don't know. Version 2.4 just runs with the default DOSBox settings. And forget about declaring "BUFFERS" and "FILES". DOSBox doesn't support config.sys (a simple text file in which you define them and other DOS settings).

Re: Mute sound under DOSBox. Is it possible?

in DOSBox General
I don't think "nosound=true" or even mixer would help him. I think it's pretty safe to assume that he refers to muting the game while inside a game - by using an internal shortcut (like you do to increase the frameskip, capture a screenshot or a sound, etc.).

Re: Did you know that DOSSHELL works with DOSBOX?

in DOSBox General
I've never heard of a "Norton Explorer", but my old "Norton Commander 5" (the last version of Norton for DOS) works like a charm in DOSBox. But then again, I don't see the big deal. Frontends are meant to be as "lite" as possible by definition. They usually don't care for memory or sound (at least …

Re: vm error [38] internal error message

in DOS
XP belongs to the NT series, which I thought was Unix based. I've tried looking it up in Google. One page said Unix, one forum said OS/2 (another user then contradicted it and pointed to VMS...) and no one seems to really know for sure. The only thing everyone can tell is that it's not DOS... So if …

Re: Lotus 123

Alright, I've downloaded the debug version and got to the part of "dosbox should halt". ...except it doesn't halt! As soon as I type your command, it's as if I just pressed "pause" again and so the app is just unpaused. Also, when you said AX, did you mean EAX (on the top left corner)?

Re: Lotus 123

First of all, I use the standard "binary" DOSBox version - does it have debug options? I've tried pausing, pressing alt+tab for the DOS window and entering what you said. Is there supposed to be a space there between "bpint", "10" & "*"? Anyway, nothing special happened when I unpaused. Is there any …

Re: vm error [38] internal error message

in DOS
Wait a minute, so you already knew DOSBox and all this time you've only had this error with DOSBox? Why didn't you post this in DOSBox's forum then? And does the logo say 3.1+? A Plus version?
