I find the Quadro 2000 to be good for Windows XP and very cheap these days. About the same power level as the 8800, but only like 62w. Still works well enough in Windows 10 also if that's your thing.

Fractal Design Focus G is a decent option. Figuring out front panel audio and USB 3.0 is another thing to consider in a modern case.

I just put together a new 7900x system and am holding out on buying a new video card. I'd like a 4080, but not for $1200. The Radeons are a compelling option but I've seen their performance with ray tracing on isn't much better than my current 3060 ti.

Quick and cheap XP machine that ought to max out a lot of games: Dell Optiplex 790 running an i5 or i7 Sandy Bridge, stick a Quadro 2000 on it and an X-Fi. Ought to be able to get it all for $200 or less.

I don't understand why someone would bother with Windows 7 or 8 when 10 exists. XP is where a lot of retro benefits stop. The 1650 will not have drivers for XP. Your best bet is to get something powerful from the Geforce 900 series like a 970 or higher and then do a dual boot with XP and 10.

I have a Precision M50 on the way. I will attempt to swap the Quadro4 700 Go GL and the UltraSharp UXGA screen into my 8100 when it arrives. I have a much greater desire for a Tualatin than any P4 and not to mention the 8100 belonged to my old man.

Just noticed the thread title edit... Hilarious that it had to be clarified. The last I picked up old games was at a large indoor flea market. Whatever happened to those? Also, computer shows with all the Chinese knockoffs need to show back up around here. I could really use some cheap cases.

Unless you test the chip in another motherboard, then you can't rule out the motherboard.
