Came across one those adapters at Microcenter yesterday and bough it. It's by Vantec. Haven't tried it yet. Planning on using it with a Win95 build.

Looking into getting a sound card for Windows 95. Looking for a general purpose DOS/ Windows 95 sound card. My options are 1) Sound Blaster AWE64 CT4520 w/ EMU Wavetable 512KB DRAM 2) ESS1868F with Dreamblaster X2 card that phil reviewed thanks

Thanks. Found an Asus TX97-X on ebay that will make a good Win95 build. Being an ATX mb simplies PSU options.

Have Win98 and WinXP systems running. Now, I'm looking into a Win95. Thought about getting a Socket 7 with Pentium 200 MMX but I have a spare Asus P3B-F with a PII 400 MHz and 64 MB RAM. The P3B-F CD has Win95 chipset drivers so that would help. I could get a PII 233 and go with 32 MB RAM. For video …

Great feedback. I think for Slot 1, I'll stick with Mx but will watch ebay for Ti 4400.

Built a Win98 SE around Asus P3B-F, 512 MB, Slot 1 650 MHz, SB Live SB0100. I have 2 video cards Palit 9800 Pro and MX440 -8x, 128 MB. Games I'm playing MW3 and 4, Enemy Engaged Comanche vs Hokum, Blade Runner. Right now, I'm using MX440 (61.76 drivers) but was think about swapping it for the 9800 …

I reinstalled Windows XP SP3 and used the Reddit approach along with correction mentioned by Gamecollector and installed over 140 updates. I was surprised that it's still working.

Out of curiosity, I tried using the MiniTool and the reddit post to update XP SP3 and that didn't work. When starting the wumt_x86.exe, get an error message that's not a valid Win32 app. It would have been cool if it had worked. I'll stick with SP3 https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=1096062# …
