Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Screenshot problem Perhaps I've been a bit unclear: If there is a difference between the appearance in DOSBox and the captured png file (when opening it in an image viewer, not DFR) this is a DOSBox problem D-Fend Reloaded cannot influence. Mostly this is caused due to some tricky usage of palettes …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi Alexander, sorry about not getting about the last 0.6 beta back then, was really occupied with university. I did a little testing of this beta and it looks good so far. All of the bugs we talked about back then are gone and some of my feature requests in there too, thanks :) The only bug from …

Re: What's in a name? You say tomato, I say ...

Thanks, I'll look into it. I don't have any 16-bit applications running but I'm not sure whether this is a good idea. And if it has anything to do with the problem at all?! If either DOSBox or D-Fend RL uses this Windows' functionality to create the dir names I'm sure running into more problems, …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Did i say that was a problem? well, you insulted me, if that counts I even told you the solution. No, no you didn't. You told me a workaround that, hadn't you assumed I'm a complete moron (which seems to be your picture of your average "customer") you knew I was already aware of

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

That's a very nice setup I will consider. It does currently conflict with the frontend though, which I want to use for it's functionality of showing the screenshots and meta data. Well, it could be done that way in the frontend, but I think I'd have to manually set up the capture folders for every …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Did i say it shouldn't? I was just replying to that "i've got 7 keen directories and am confused" guy Where did I say I was confused? All I did say was that it doesn't work. Of course I know DOS itself does not support such path names but DOSBox does, and so does the frontend. If, despite the …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

@Neville I don't think you understand the problem. For various reasons using 8-letter folder names is not an option for many despite knowing it would mean less problems. While DOSBox itself has no problems with shortening the names, any front-end needs to create the exact same short name to directly …

Re: Why does surface output behave so strangely?

@Leolo Thanks so much, the nvidia driver thing did the trick. Previously none of the rendering modes worked in fullscreen but now openglnb does scale to fullscreen as it should :) I can now finally use my much more powerful notebook to play the games ;) Unfortunately, I probably have to batch edit …

Re: Why does surface output behave so strangely?

Hi, I've run into some problems concerning video too. I have two systems, a xp sp3 pc with CRT monitor and a vista (no sp yet) notebook with 1280x800 as native resolution. I run DOSBox from my USB drive using D-Fend reloaded. On both systems I've encountered video problems, quite different ones …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Ok, I kinda found out what the problem is... I used the standard template for all the games, meaning the VirtualHD folder gets mounted to C:\. If you check drive C:\ in a running dosbox it has (as would be expected) several folders: (commander keen games) COMMAN~1 COMMAN~2 COMMAN~3 ... Now, for some …
