Can anyone explain why 45.23 is considered the best driver for a Win98? What issues in games appear with newer drivers?

I found out that this card doesn't support NVIDIA UltraShadow technology. I'm curious what it looks like in games? Are there any Windows 98 era games that use this feature?

Thanks to all. I also asked about overclocking, so can it damage the card or shorten lifespan?? Does anyone know if it's possible to install a cooler from another card? I have 5600 from ASUS.

GeForce FX 5600 is FX 5200 with all GPU features enabled and usually better memory chips installed. FX5200 suffers greatly in performance, due to lack of those. It was a horrible card which never should have been released. FX5600 is noticeably better. Do I even need 256mb vram for eye-candy …

How the hell did you burn a card on direct draw? I can understand not working right, but burning it is puzzling, unless your cooling or OC was not to par. NV driver is simply dumb that way. It can't work with multiple versions of itself running concurrently. In other words : Only 1 NV driver version can work on WinXP, so it needs to support ALL connected cards at the same time. OK, so if the second card is AMD it should be fine?

I had exactly the same idea but with Windows XP and 98. Connect both cards to one monitor. So that FX 5500 would output the image when 98 starts but 750 Ti when it comes to XP. Is this feasible?

Hi! Recently, I came across one of these LGA775 boards. It has all three of the above slots. Is it a good idea to simultaneously use two video cards on one PC? In the AGP slot more compatible card with Windows 98 era games and in PCIe for later Windows XP games? Will it even work?
