MPU401 midi out ok, but no MIDI in. :(

I have an old MPU401 based midi sequencer (sequencer plus) that I have set up under Dosbox.. It plays MIDI just fine, which is amazing, but seems to not get any *input* thru the midi IN port.. Any tips? Do I need to configuire something? Des Dosbox even support this?
