I'd recommend checking this forum for the latest VDMSound 1.2.0 (beta) and use it instead 2.0.4, because it has a kindlier installer for newbies. I would forget abandon loader if necessary. ok you didn’t really provide much info on your computers set up. But if your talking about the movies not playing back smoothly then it has to do with your CD ROM. I played the intro movie off the hard drive (using the bink video tool kit) and it ran fine so I’m guessing my CD ROM is too slow... …

Acctually after I wrote the message I tested it in XP (first test was done in Windows 98 SE) and there it worked but I couldn't get any sound but thats an issue with my soundcard driver. Well, that's weird. Longbow 2 allegedly worked with Creative's Unified Glide wrapper (v1.16), and possibly even ye olde XGL200 (by Scott Cutler, now of NVIDIA). Hmm... Did Craig send you Longbow 2, Paul?

thx m8 Does this mean this worked for you? I highly doubt it - not all AC97 chips are alike. The ALC101 is a AC97 2.2-based chip, most of those have no DOS drivers. Best bet - boot Win95 and use the VXD drivers available from Realtek. This provides SB emulation in a DOS window. OR - someone port …
