Try the patch from here. Also make sure you don't have v-sync enabled or it may speed up and slow down every few seconds.

Re: SB CT4780 Not Producing Sound?

You might want to try installing this driver: http://www.mdgx.com/sbdrv/sblive2.zip Source: Compilation of Creative Sound Blaster Live! drivers for Windows 9x - Windows 9x/ME - MSFN I had the same problem with the card not producing sound even though it appeared to be installed correctly. Using this …

Re: Just an important heads up

in Milliways
Okay I figured out what was up with the logo being displayed that way. Apparently setting gfx.color_management.mode to 0 in about:config solves the problem. Just wanted to post this for anyone else who might experience it. Sorry to bother you guys with this.

Re: Just an important heads up

@flashback I don't see how it doesn't blend. what did you change ? Maybe it's my browser (I still use Firefox 3.6) but the logo currently looks like the one on the left and I was suggesting to change it to the one on the right. The odd thing is, yesterday it looked like someone changed it to the …

Re: NFS III Hot Pursuit on Voodoo5 (Win98)

in Windows
Have you tried putting -voodoo2 in the shortcut target line like this? "C:\Games\Need For Speed III\nfs3.EXE" -voodoo2 Not sure where I found out about this but that's what I have in my shortcut using with a glide wrapper in XP. Dunno if that will help but it might be worth a shot.

Re: Heavy Gear

in Windows
It's been a while since I tried running Heavy Gear under Windows XP. Currently I have it installed on my Windows 98 partition. However, I know I did have it running ok in XP before. Try installing the retail 1.1 patch. Here's the link. http://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/games/heavygear/hgp187d.exe. …

Re: MechWarrior 2 3dfx edition

The mouse is a bit laggy but it does work with dgVoodoo under win98 with a GeForce 6800. I guess whatever the latest mobo you can still find '98 chipset drivers for and a 6800 is about as modern as your going to get it working on. I'm running it on an asus vintage ae-1.

Re: MechWarrior2 "unable to run in DOS Mode".

in Windows
You're best bet is to either install a 9x version of windows on a second partition/hard drive or try something like Virtual PC. I haven't tried the Virtual PC option myself but in theory it should let ya run Mech2 from a vitual 9x install. I'm not sure what 3d accelleration support Vitual PC has so …

Re: MechWarrior2 "unable to run in DOS Mode".

in Windows
Are you sure you were running those versions in DOS before? As far as I know all of the 3d enhanced editions are windows only. The only ones that might run under DOSBox are the original pentium Mech2 and the Mercs/GBL editions that had both windows and DOS versions. I double checked the discs and …

Re: How to play Powerslave on windows XP?

in DOS
Nah didn't have much luck in DOSBox(0.63) either. I think my CPU is too slow though - it maxed out around 12k cycles. Game speed is still pretty slow then it just crashes on the main menu. Might work on a faster pc heh. There is a win95 exe but the rendering is pretty messed up. Tried turning off …

Re: How to play Powerslave on windows XP?

in DOS
I don't actually have Powerslave but with most other Build engine games usually the first thing you'll need is NOLFB. You can get that here http://advsys.net/ken/build.htm Put NOLFB.COM in the game's directory then open the game's .cfg file and set screenmode=2 or use the setup program to select …
