You might want to try installing the drivers from here. I had similar problems getting sound to work with my SB Live! in Windows 98SE. These drivers fixed it for me.

Try the patch from here. Also make sure you don't have v-sync enabled or it may speed up and slow down every few seconds.

Okay I figured out what was up with the logo being displayed that way. Apparently setting gfx.color_management.mode to 0 in about:config solves the problem. Just wanted to post this for anyone else who might experience it. Sorry to bother you guys with this.

I initially had trouble finding a working 98 SB Live! driver too after my AudioPCI died a few years ago. I finally found a driver that worked here. Might be worth a shot.

Have you tried putting -voodoo2 in the shortcut target line like this? "C:\Games\Need For Speed III\nfs3.EXE" -voodoo2 Not sure where I found out about this but that's what I have in my shortcut using with a glide wrapper in XP. Dunno if that will help but it might be worth a shot.

Still had the patch on my '98 partition if you still need. I know the file says pand2v2 but this is for Pandemonium 1 - I never renamed the file or anything.

The mouse is a bit laggy but it does work with dgVoodoo under win98 with a GeForce 6800. I guess whatever the latest mobo you can still find '98 chipset drivers for and a 6800 is about as modern as your going to get it working on. I'm running it on an asus vintage ae-1.

You're best bet is to either install a 9x version of windows on a second partition/hard drive or try something like Virtual PC. I haven't tried the Virtual PC option myself but in theory it should let ya run Mech2 from a vitual 9x install. I'm not sure what 3d accelleration support Vitual PC has so …

Are you sure you were running those versions in DOS before? As far as I know all of the 3d enhanced editions are windows only. The only ones that might run under DOSBox are the original pentium Mech2 and the Mercs/GBL editions that had both windows and DOS versions. I double checked the discs and …

I can't remember if I had to place an original glide.dll in windows/system temporarily to get the game to install or not.
